The first May Day event in Wolverhampton organised by Wolverhampton TUC was 1st May 1892.
Headshrinkers are a four-piece Indie/Punk band from Wolverhampton/Wall Health/Walsall. Influences: Joy Division, Libertines, Stone Roses, The La's, Twisted Wheel, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, The Beatles
Reckless bboy crew We are Reckless, a bboy crew from Wolverhampton, founded in Heath Town in 1982. We are the second generation, we teach, battle, perform and uphold the legacy the original generation left us and the true culture of hip-hop and all it's elements.

free veggie curry for all - the Indian Workers Association prepares and serves over 200 free meals at the event around 7-45pm

Last year was our 25th anniversary, about 300 people came – a good mixture of trades unionists and local people from Whitmore Reans. It was a very successful night.
We had over a dozen union and local campaign stalls, free mehndi and bouncy castle, face-painting and we served over 250 free meals. Our main acts were Attila the Stockbroker & Reckless bboy crew.
Lynne Moran, the local Labour Party councillor who addressed the crowd, increased her percentage of the vote the following day at election. We had a number of new signups and understand that the union stalls present recruited several new members
